I am so proud of the message of this song. Both physically and metaphorically - the concept of scars - permanent marks from previous experiences - is a weighty one. Being the recipient of about 30 scars from melanoma excisions is one place where I come from, however, conversations with young people about cutting, and/or with anyone about broken relationships ... gives call to the discussion of where these places are in us and what they mean. It is part of our story....
